Catherine L. Formica's Obituary
Catherine L. Formica, 99, of East Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was born in Syracuse to the late Florence Gates and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Catherine worked for Syracuse Blueprint and later for O’Brien & Gere for several years. In her spare time, Catherine loved solving crossword puzzles, but more than anything enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.
In addition to her mother, she is predeceased by her husband, Frank Formica in 2006 and several brothers and sisters.
Catherine is survived by her daughter, Marie A. Pelosi; her sons, Sam (Jamie) Formica and Frank (Terry) Formica; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Turner; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Catherine’s life at 12:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse, NY.
