Catherine R. Lamacchia's Obituary
Catherine R. (Amato) Lamacchia passed away Monday, February 6th at the age of 87 in Tampa, Florida. She was born February 3, 1925 in Syracuse, NY. Catherine was the daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette Amato. She was the youngest of six children. Catherine devoted her life to raising her four children. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking and traveling. She was predeceased by her son, Michael; two brothers, Joseph and Samuel and her sister, Ann. Catherine is survived by two sons, Charles A. Lamacchia of Tampa, FL and Anthony M. Lamacchia of Syracuse; a daughter, Kathleen A. Lamacchia of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Julie Lamacchia of Kentucky, Jamie Brown of Syracuse and AJ Lamacchia of Syracuse; two sisters, Margaret Lee and Antoinette Spadafore, both of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4 to 7 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Catherine's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
