Catherine D. More's Obituary
Catherine Dolores More, 82, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at St. Josephs Hospital with her family by her side on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Loperfido) Panto.
After working as an administrative assistant at SUNY Upstate Medical University for more than 40 years, she retired in 1998, which allowed her to spend time with her grandchildren, who she adored. In retirement, she enjoyed baking, gardening, and practicing her faith. Catherine loved spending time with her family and friends, especially the holidays gathered around the dining room table sharing stories. All who knew her will miss her infectious smile, comforting hugs, and Italian cookies.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, John “Jack” More; children, John (Rosemarie) More, Lynda (Kurt) Keller; grandchildren John and Emily More, Katherine and Carolyn Keller; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
Catherine’s family wishes to thank the nurses on floor 3-2 of St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Catherine’s life at 11:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2018 at Our Lady of Pompei in Syracuse. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4 – 7 PM at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd, (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
