Cecelia "Cece" (Gallagher) Reardon's Obituary
Cecelia “Cece” (Gallagher) Reardon, 81, a long-time resident of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2023, in Mentor, OH surrounded by her loving family. Born in Binghamton to the late Lawrence and Helen (Recktenwald) Gallagher, she was a 1959 graduate of St. Paul’s High School and a 1963 graduate of SUNY Oneonta. After graduation, Cece began her career as a Home Economics teacher for the LaFayette Central School District. Following a few years of teaching, she left the workforce to become a homemaker and raise her three children. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool for over 50 years. Cece loved gardening, quilting, baking, reading, and was an active volunteer within the Liverpool Central School District. Additionally, she was also a member of the Friends of Liverpool Public Library, the Plank Road Quilt Guild, and the Oot Meadows Homeowners Association.
Cece was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Joseph Reardon, in 2009, and her sister, Mary Helen Mullins, in 2016.
She is survived by her three children, Patrick (Michelle) Reardon, Kathleen (David) Sterio, and Kelly (Kevin) Bovi; grandchildren, Eric Reardon, and Nicole, Jacob, and Emily Sterio; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Cece’s life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 10:00 AM in Epiphany Parish – Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum, Dewitt. A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass on Saturday from 8:45 – 9:45 at the church, 425 Beechwood Ave, Liverpool.
Cece’s family would like to thank the Clare Bridge staff at Brookdale Senior Living in Mentor, Ohio, as well as the caregivers of Gentiva Hospice for the compassion and care given to Cece and her family during this time.
