Celestina M. (Ferro) Cosimo-Paul, 97, passed away at home on February 20, 2024. She was born in Cortland, NY, daughter of the late Charles and Lena (D’Angelo) Ferro.
Her hobbies and interests included being a “Foodie”, watching golf & football, fashion, shoes, chocolate, and spending time with friends and family. She also volunteered at St. Sophia’s for events.
She is predeceased by her ex-husband and father of her children, Patsy (Pat) Cosimo; siblings: Ester Stiles, Anna Pennello, Mary Patriarco, Jimmy & Bobby Ferro; her dog “Brandy”, close friends: Claire Griffin, Evellyn Barnello, Sylvia Scarano, & Dr. Howard Kelley were her dear friends.
Celestina is survived by her children, Mary Anne Cosmo, Patsy Cosimo (Celeste Stoker), James (Elizabeth) Cosimo and Timothy (Karen) Cosimo; Douglas Beard (prior son in law); grandchildren, Douglas Jr & Garth Beard, Brandon (Ariel), Andrew, Daniel, Allesandra, Dimitri, & Gianni Cosimo, Julian (Carrie) Nicholas; great grandchildren: Abigail, Adrian, Nathan, Izabella, Jacob, Jackson, Owen, Logan, Lydia, Eleanor & Benjamin; great-great grandchildren: Maddox & Micah; siblings: Patricia (Patty) Durkee, Richard (Dick) & Sam (Sammy) Ferro; close friends: Joan & Sammy Ferro, Claire Griffin’s children, Mark & Kimberly, Josephine Mironti, & Shirley Myra.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Celestina’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2024 at St. Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Church, 325 Waring Rd., Syracuse, NY. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery next to her husband James who passed in 2014.
