Charles A. Durham's Obituary
Charles A. Durham, 86, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2019. He was born in Malone, NY, son of the late Alec and Eva Durham. Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War; he served with the 213th Field Artillery. He worked for many dedicated years at General Electric and served 12 years as Onondaga County Legislator. Charlie enjoyed watching golf and was an avid NY Yankee fan. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is predeceased by his brothers, Joe and Art, and three sisters, Helen, Brenda and Janice.
Charlie is survived by his son, Daniel A. Durham of Buffalo; his daughter, Susan (Scott) Crowell of Crystal River, FL.; three grandchildren, Courtney (Matt) Boothe Crowell, Justin Crowell (Taylor Howett) and Shannon Crowell; four sisters, Joyce, Virginia, Linda and Joanne; two brothers, Bill and Jim; his previous wife, Mary Ann Durham, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Charlie’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be welcomed to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, 1 Conservation Place, Syracuse, NY 13204.
