Charles "Chick" Fabbri's Obituary
Charles “Chick” Fabbri, 89, of Mattydale, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at home. He was born in Syracuse to the late Jacapo Fabbri and Lena (Yuzwa) Fabbri. Chick proudly served his country during the Korean War and was a U.S. Army veteran. Chick had a passion for gardening, fishing, and cooking. In the summer months you could find him out in the yard tending to his garden. Chick was also a lifetime Red Sox fan that would never miss a game on TV. He very much enjoyed his time with friends and family, especially time spent sitting around the kitchen table playing pitch with “the girls”. Chick was a welcoming host and always loved company.
Besides his parents, Chick was predeceased by his wife Marta in 2012 and brother John in 1995.
Chick is survived by his nieces, Paula (Charlie) Schirtz of Mattydale and Janice (Nick) Capozzi of Syracuse; his nephew, Carl (Jeanne) Pawlick of Clay; his best friend, Bob Pfeiffer of Cleveland, NY, along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 11 A.M. – 12 P.M., immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Chick’s life at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay, NY.
