Charles B. "Chuck" Middleton's Obituary
Charles B. “Chuck” Middleton, 79, of Cicero, passed away peacefully at Upstate University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia (Backus) Middleton; his sons, Charles D. (Laura Petralia) and Michael J. (Margaret) Middleton; his grandchildren, Taylor, Michael, Joshua, Alicia, Chuck, Maggie, and Jonathon; his sisters, Tami Conroy, Kathy LeCount, and Linda Lawton; his brother-in-law, Danford Backus; his sister-in-law, Diana Smith; his cousin, Kathy Varre; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was born in Chicago to the late Charles and Dorothy (White) Middleton and after graduating from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1960, he began his life-long career as a roofer while only in his twenties. Chuck went on to become the owner and operator of DeWald Roofing in Central Square, a business he managed for many years. He was a long-time member of the Roofers Local 195 and acted as the Apprenticeship Coordinator. Chuck enjoyed going bass fishing, trips to the casino, and Friday poker-nights with his friends. He was an avid Syracuse sports fan and had a love for Corvettes and his sweets- he never met a cookie, cake, or chocolate bar he didn’t like.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Karen Milligan and Patty McMichael.
A funeral service in celebration of Chuck’s life will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road) North Syracuse. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 5 – 7 pm at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Chuck’s name may be made to the Humane Association of CNY, 4915 West Taft Road Liverpool, NY 13088.
