Charles G. "Chuck" Schmidt, Jr.'s Obituary
Charles G. “Chuck” Schmidt, Jr., 85, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at his home in Liverpool. He was born in Syracuse to the late Charles, Sr., and Mary Schmidt on December 24, 1934. Chuck was a graduate of Morrisville College and worked for New Process Gear for many years. He was also a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. Chuck enjoyed taking long Sunday drives to the Thousand Islands and visiting the marina.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Rose (Bavaria) Schmidt; a son, Steve (Kathy) Bandera; grandchildren, Carin (Geo), Michelle (Joe), Mark and Melanie (Jake); great-grandchildren, Stephanie (Seyam), Selena, Lilliana, Analisa, Sergio and Caleb; as well as a great-great-grandchild, Samira.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 9 am at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Chuck’s life at 10 am in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4 – 6 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Road (corner of Buckley Road), North Syracuse.
