Chris Anthony Lappano's Obituary
Chris Anthony Lappano, 69, beloved husband, father and papa, passed away peacefully at the Webster Comfort Care home, in Rochester, surrounded by his family.
A graduate of North High School and LeMoyne College, Chris worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 39 years. Chris will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, family and friends. His six grandchildren were his pride and joy. In retirement, Chris enjoyed helping Sister Lucy at the food pantry at St. Margaret’s Church and volunteering with the Military Outreach Ministry (MOM) at Camp Pendleton in California.
Chris loved his ’98 Jaguar XK8 and had many friends within the Jaguar Association of CNY. He enjoyed boating on Cayuga Lake, golfing, floating in his pool, spending winters in Southern California and patronizing every hot dog cart he passed.
Chris is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Irene (Zingaro), his children Kristin (Eric) Rorapaugh of Pittsford, NY, Terri (Kurt) Phelps of Brighton, NY and Michael (Stephanie) Lappano of Seattle, WA, his grandchildren Magnus and Gunnar Rorapaugh, Chloe and Christian Phelps, and Viva and Marcello Lappano, as well as his sister, Lori Lokay, and several nieces and nephews. Chris was predeceased by his parents Nick and Angie Lappano and his brother Richard.
The family wishes to thank Chris’s Oncology and Pallative Care Teams and especially the nurses, patient care techs and staff of the Wilmot Cancer Center, fifth floor for their compassion and care.
A celebration of Chris’s Life will be held Thursday at 11:00AM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO, JR.FUNERAL HOME and at 12:00 Noon , June 18,2015 in St. Margaret’s Church, Mattydale. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home 3401 Vickery Rd.(Corner of Buckley Rd.), North Syracuse, Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
