Christine A. Bird's Obituary
Christine A. Bird passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13th, 2020 in Liverpool, NY. She was preceded in death by her late mother, Josephine Emma-Bird, grandparents, Clement and Leah Bird, Salvatore and Amelia Emma. As a family they spent a rich, quiet, and fulfilling life together. Christine was the only child born to Josephine and Bernard. Christine thought fondly of her late uncles Charles “Tom” Bird, and Glenn “Joe” Bird.
Christine is a former student at Westmoreland High School, Westmoreland, NY. She is survived by her grieving and loving father, Bernard P. Bird; her step-mother, Blessed Sikhosana-Bird; step-brother, Andy Chikwehwa and wife Elise; her close nieces and nephew, Khaya, Zola, Sipho Chikwehwa; close friends, Tom and Mary Ann Koscielniak as well as many other Bird, Fiore, Emma relatives and friends.
Christine will be fondly remembered and missed as a daughter, granddaughter, and niece to Aunt Pauline Bird-Kotary, uncles Ron and Dennis Bird, Kevin Fallis, Grandma Joyce Mabhena, best friends, Paula Munn (Rome, NY) and Denise Brown (New Zealand).
During her life, Christine was loved and adored by many family and friends from all around the world. Christine was loved, prayed for, and supported by members of the Liverpool First United Methodist Church and Kirkville First United Methodist Church in Syracuse, NY.
In honoring Christine’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. To attend the services remotely at 12 pm on Saturday, May 30, 2020, please use the link on Christine’s tribute page at www.tjpfuneralhome.com in order to watch the live webcast. Immediate family wishing to attend graveside services in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Rome may meet at the cemetery gates at 2:15 pm on Saturday May 30, 2020. Facial coverings will be required and social distancing measures will be enforced.
