Christopher M. Cossitt's Obituary
Christopher M. Cossitt, 44, of Bridgeport, passed away on August 9, 2023. He was born in Syracuse and worked in the construction industry, most recently for It’s All Better Honey Bee Rescue.
Chris found joy in all the little things, and shared with anyone who would listen, like key chains, little tree air fresheners, and trinkets. He found meaning in the little things of life. For example, he brought gifts to the people he cared about as a way to show he was thinking of them. He called them care packages. He knew what someone was into, interested in, and it was his way of showing love.
Never having a "real job" he worked with and for people who were in line with his interests. Anything he did, he excelled at, from building small engines, hydraulic low riders, high performance car audio, and home construction to name a few, winning awards for the projects he was part of.
Throughout his life music was what he was made of. His music was his sanctuary, his art form, his true Passion. If you knew him for any length of time, he gave you a mixed CD of music he thought you would enjoy, even if you were a momentary encounter while pumping gas. He would talk to any stranger and make them laugh and this brought him joy.
Chris was the most selfless person you would ever meet. Always taking the short end of the deal to be sure you were satisfied.
Chris found God in his 40s and lived by Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
At the end of his incredibly short life, he found true freedom from the hardships he encountered and experienced incredible peace within... always appreciative.
