Christopher S. Gallup's Obituary
Christopher Stephen Gallup, 61, of Syracuse, NY, passed away suddenly on October 20, 2025. After many years working in construction, Chris found a role he enjoyed as a parts driver for Pirro Brothers Ford in Elbridge. He also studied Media Arts Audio Production at Cayuga Community College.
Chris had a passion for music that began at a young age. He was a talented musician, skilled with many instruments, but he loved the guitar the most. Though he was known to have a "mean mug," he was nothing but a teddy bear inside. He cared deeply and passionately about his family and always put them first.
Above all, Chris was most proud of his family. He shared the definition of true love with his wife of 39 years, MaryEllen. He loved watching his children, Rachael and Stephen, as well as his grandchildren, Olivia and Noah, reach every milestone and achievement, making him incredibly proud.
Chris is predeceased by his mother, Grace (Ferrante) Gallup and his father, William Gallup and family pet, Bella-Bailey (their beagle rescue).
Chris is survived by his wife, MaryEllen (Iannuzzi) Gallup; his daughter, Rachael Massey; his son, Stephen Gallup; two grandchildren, Olivia and Noah; siblings, Matthew Gallup, Therese Gallup, and Thomas Gallup (Roxanne); and grand pups, Blue and Lola.
He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Matthew Gallup, Jessica Palmer (Ian), Emily Walsh (Chris), Thomas Gallup, Jr., and Tara Perrotti; aunts and uncles, Edward and Betty Ferrante, Thomas and Corinne Ferrante; his best friend, Frank Trippany and many cousins, extended family, and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 4pm-7pm at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Road, (corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. A funeral Mass in celebration of Christopher’s life will take place on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse, NY 13206.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either CNY SPCA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
