Ciro Carroccio's Obituary
Ciro Carroccio, 76, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was born in Sicily, Italy, son of Vincenzo and Maria Teresa (Versaci) Carroccio, and came to the United States on June 26, 1967. Ciro was the owner and operator of Queens Plate Trattoria in Baldwinsville for 20 years, and was also co-owner of Sicula Home Builders, Inc. He retired from the New York State Thruway Authority in 2009. Ciro was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing, he especially loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ciro will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and pride for his family.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Benedetto Carroccio, and three grandsons, Vincenzo, Ciro, and Emilio.
Ciro is survived by his loving wife Carmela (Piccitto) Carroccio who he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage with in September; three children, Vincenzo (Kelly) Carroccio, Maria Teresa (Giovanni) Vigliotti, and Angelo (Nicole) Carroccio; nine grandchildren, Francesco, Giovanni, Luciano, Isabella, Angelina, Juliana, Arianna, Vincenzo, and Sophia; two sisters, Maria Rosa Martorano and Benedetta (Francesco) Leggio, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Ciro’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
