Clara Ann (Scalzo) Camille's Obituary
Clara Ann (Scalzo) Camille, 97, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at the Cottages at Garden Grove on Monday, March 23, 2026. She was born in Carbondale, PA to the late Angelo and Katheryn Scalzo and graduated from North High School in 1946. Clara worked as a plate decorator for Syracuse China and Onondaga Pottery. She participated in playing bocce in the St. Peter’s Bocce League and was an avid Gonzaga and SU basketball fan. She also enjoyed traveling back to Carbondale to visit and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Carl, her daughter, Susan; her brothers and sisters, Rose (Fred) DellaValle, Mary DiFulio, Peter (Fran) Scalzo, and Anthony “Tony” Scalzo.
Clara is survived by her children, Carl Camille, Mary (Wayne) Allen, and John (Chris) Camille; her grandchildren, Brian Camille, Sarah Camille, and Lauren (Lewis) Clark; her sister-in-law, Alice Scalzo; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A special thanks to her niece Carol for her love and care of Aunt Clara.

Family and friends may call on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. (noon) immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Clara’s life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lyncourt Fire Department, 2909 Court St. Syracuse, NY 13208.
