Clara (Brock) Centore's Obituary
Clara (Brock) Centore, 101 years young, passed away on August 25, 2020 with her children by her side. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Antonio and Rosina Brock. She was also predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John Centore; sisters, Lee Brock, Virginia Caselle and Esther DeMauro. Clara is survived by her children, Roz (Tom) Sacco, John Centore, Jr., and Marie (Brian) Grace; grandchildren, Linda Runfola, Lauri (Mike) Ziparo, TJ (Nicole) Sacco, John Centore III, Kimberly Centore, Alexis (Eric) Goble, and Ryan Grace; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Renee and Tyler Runfola, Michaela Ziparo, Samantha Sacco, Juliana and Roman Centore, Kendall and Emma Walker, Amelia and Clara Goble; great-great grandchildren, Carly and Elliott Terek; her sister, Mary La Grange; several nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
Clara was a woman of faith and belonged to Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. In past years she was active with Home Bureau, Senior Cyclones, Salina Seniors, St. Peter’s Women Society and St. Daniel’s Prayer Group. Clara was beautiful inside and out and was independent up to recent months. She was strong willed and determined to complete any task at hand. Clara was a sweet, caring women who touched so many lives. She was loved by all and considered a second mother to many. She was known for her cooking and baking including many Italian dishes, her famous Easter bunny cookies, but most of all, her delicious Italian cookies. In addition to cooking and baking she had a love for working in the garden tending to her beautiful flowers. She also loved crafts, playing Tiles, doing puzzles, coloring, reading and her nightly visits from Kovu one of her grand dogs.
Clara will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
Private funeral services entrusted to THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. She will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
