Clara O. ( Pellizzari) Nesci's Obituary
Clara O. (Pellizzari) Nesci, age 89, of Venice, Florida, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Bay Village of Sarasota.
Born April 19, 1930 in Syracuse, NY. She was a graduate of Solvay High School and went on to study Cosmetology in Syracuse. She retired from the Onondaga County Tax Department in 1993. In 1990, she and her husband Jim started vacationing in Venice and enjoyed many wonderful winters there together. Shortly after his passing in 2003, she chose to move to Florida and become a resident of Venice.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, always thinking of others and putting everyone she loved before herself, especially her son Joseph which she adored and built her life around. “To know her was to love her immediately” she had the most infectious laugh that lit up any room. Clara very much enjoyed her travels with her father and Cousin Gina, to Tyrol Austria! She also enjoyed her many trips with her husband and their friends.
Clara was an active member of the Epiphany Cathedral Church and Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice, Florida. Clara was a member of the Solvay Tyrol Club Auxiliary and a member and sales rep with Shaklee Corporation.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband and sweetheart of 50 years, James A Nesci; her parents, Guarino and Olga Pellizzari and brother, Eligio Pellizzari.
Clara is survived by her son, Joseph (Sandy) Nesci; adorned granddaughter, Samantha Nesci and great-granddaughter, Gianna Bertrand; sister, Rita (John) Briggman; sister-in-law, Marie Pellizzari; sister-in-law, Emily Maggio; extended grandchildren, Rachel, Anthony, Alaina Lucio and Riley Warren, many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at St. Charles Church, 501 S. Orchard Road, Syracuse, NY 13219, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Clara’s life at 1:00 p.m. Private Entombment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
