Clementina (Zavaglia) Lauro's Obituary
Clementina (Zavaglia) Lauro, 66, of Clay, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Marianna (Oppedisano) Zavaglia. Clementina enjoyed baking, knitting, sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino. But most importantly, Clementina’s children were her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren since birth.
Clementina is survived by her daughter, Gisella Lauro of Clay; her three sons, Joseph (Sara) Lauro of Camillus, Geraldo Lauro of Syracuse and Frank Lauro of Mattydale; three grandchildren, Mathew, Nicholas and Gia Lauro; her sister, Maria (Salvatore) Cassaniti of Syracuse; three brothers, Salvatore Zavaglia of East Syracuse, Cosimo (Albina) Zavaglia of Jamesville and Dominick (Madeline) Zavaglia of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Clementina’s life at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
