Concetta G. "Connie" Cannone's Obituary
Concetta “Connie” (Bottiglieri) Cannone, 89, of East Syracuse, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at James Square surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Bottiglieri. Connie worked part-time while raising her children, at Leo’s and Sons and the Village Deli in East Syracuse. She enjoyed cooking for family events and looked forward to family gatherings. Connie was an incredible loving, faith filled woman, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She never hesitated to pray or light candles to support anyone in time of need. Connie herself battled Alzheimer’s and breast cancer. Connie will be truly missed by everyone.
She was predeceased by three children, Elvira, Victor, and Nicholas Cannone; her siblings, Stella Muscolino, Rosemary Marschner, and Betty Farone.
Connie is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Nicholas “Nick” Cannone; children, Vera (Edward) Wittkowski, Joanne (Joseph) Landers, and Nick Cannone, Jr., five grandchildren, Tricia and Carli Wittkowski, Kari Roberts-Sanchez (Oscar), Rick Roberts (Katie), and Keli Roberts-Clemente (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Marcelo and Garbriela Sanchez, Kylie and Caden Roberts, and Charley Roberts-Clemente; her sister, Angie DeRose, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Great Thanks to James Square Nursing Home team on 3N who took care of Connie for 3 years and provided her with so much love and attention; she became part of their family.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Connie’s life at 10:00 am in St. Matthew’s Church, East Syracuse. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
