Concetta R. Catalano's Obituary
Concetta R. (Barbagallo) Catalano, 72, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse, the daughter of Peter and Domenica Barbagallo. Concetta was a teacher for 30 years, mostly at Roxboro Road, Mattydale before retiring in 1999. She received the Immaculata Award in 2011. Concetta was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. Margaret's Church. She was also Vice President of the Mattydale Hinsdale Seniors. Concetta enjoyed attending daily mass and spending time with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, George Catalano Jr. in 2011. Concetta is survived by her three sons, George Catalano, III of Clay; Peter (Mary) Catalano of Manlius and Paul J. (Lisa) Catalano of Clay; her mother, Dominica Barbagallo of Syracuse; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Peter, George R., Michael, Connor, Christopher, Emma, Grace, Jackson and Lillian; four brothers, Angelo Barbagallo of Syracuse, Alfred (Kathy) Barbagallo of North Syracuse, Peter (Michelle) Barbagallo of Jamesville and Paul Barbagallo of Syracuse; four sisters, Mary Seabrook of Syracuse, Antoinette Barbagallo of East Syracuse, Rose Musumeci of Phoenix, NY and Lucy (Walter) Bohl of Beaver, PA; also many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in St. Margaret's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Contributions may be made to St. Margaret's School Guardian Angel Fund, 201 Roxboro Road, Mattydale, NY 13211.
