Concetta M. (Armao) Colenzo's Obituary
Concetta M. (Armao) Colenzo, 92, formerly of Utica, currently of Cicero, passed away October 12, 2012 at Syracuse Home. She was born and raised in Utica, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria (Bocchino) Armao. Concetta met her once in a lifetime love, Lugo P. Colenzo and they were married on November 4, 1939. She was previously employed with My Boys Shop and Woolworths for 20 years, in sales and as an office manager. Concetta was a member of the Sons of Italy, Young at Heart Senior Center in Cicero and the Socialites of St. Margaret's Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Lugo P. Colenzo in 1997 and her brother, John Armao. Concetta is survived by her sons, Deacon Salvatore "Sam" (Patricia) Colenzo of CA and Larry (Marilyn) Colenzo of North Syracuse; grandchildren, Karin (Rick) Seis, Kenneth Colenzo, Kristi Colenzo, Susan (Gary) Dancause, Michele Benson and Christopher (Lori) Colenzo; great-grandchildren, Shelbe and Tyler Dancause, Scott and Alex Travers, Brandon, Andrew and Peyton Colenzo, Jonathan and Samantha Seis; sister-in-law, Matilda Armao along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Concetta's family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the doctors, nurses and staff on the 6th floor at Upstate Medical Center and also to Syracuse Home for their care and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME and 10:00 am in St. Margaret's Church. Entombment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Utica. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Contributions in Concetta's memory may be made to one's favorite charity.
