Dear Jack,
I am very sorry to read about your mother's passing. I so enjoyed time spent working with Connie at St. Joseph's Hospital - all the coffee breaks and lunches as well. She knew everyone! After my St. Joe's years, we occasionally met out for breakfast or I would stop by for a visit. Though I meant to get over to visit after we ran into each other a couple of years ago, I very much regret that I failed to do so. Often I would drive by her home and then remind myself that I had not phoned first. Jack, your write-up for your mother is beautiful to read. She was so very proud of you. A lot of years have passed since I moved from Syracuse, but I remember you talking about your mom way back then. I know she must have been very proud of you. Hi Jack, I have to say that from time to time I check obits on Syracuse.com, probably every 4 months or so on average. Once in a great while I come across someone who I remember from a long time ago who I only knew briefly, but for some reason made a deep positive impression on me. Your wonderful mom was one of those people. Lately I have been less positive, grumpy and complaining more often. Then I am reminded of people like your mom, and my mom, and other moms from that generation and I realize how lucky we were to have mothers such as ours! I hope you are doing well and enjoying retirement.
