Concetta "Connie" Gelormini's Obituary
Concetta (DelVecchio) Gelormini, 102, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Sunday, April 15, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Leonard and Teresa (Silvaggio) DelVecchio. She was employed by the Selective Service Board and then retired from the Social Security Administration Hearing and Appeals Division.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Gelormini, her parents, her brothers; Matthew, Joseph, and Peter DelVecchio.
Connie is survived by her 3 children; James L. (Beverly) Gelormini of Rochester, Teresa A. Gelormini of Syracuse and Michael A. Gelormini of Syracuse; 2 grandchildren, Dr. Nicholas (Bethany) Gelormini and Danielle (Steven) Thompson; 2 great-grandchildren, Ava Marie Thompson and Lucienne Rose Gelormini; her sisters-in-law Laura DelVecchio and Mafalda (Dolly) Totora, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give special thanks to Connie’s caregivers, Kaylee, Jessica, Cheryl, Petite, Jessica, Rosary, and Sara.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Concetta’s life at 11:00 am in St. Charles of Borromeo Church, Syracuse. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
