Connie R. (Torio) Picciotto's Obituary
Connie R. (Torio) Picciotto, 100, formerly of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Saturday at Iroquois Nursing Home. As the daughter of Vito and Angeline (Santella) Torio, Connie was married to her “darling” husband, the late Peter J. Picciotto (1975), for 35 years. She was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters.
A lifelong resident of Syracuse, Connie attended St. Rose of Lima Church, participated in the Columbiettes, and worked in the Handbag Department at Chappell’s for more than 30 years.
She enjoyed playing weekly card games with close friends, taking bus trips to the casino with her church group, vacationing in Florida with relatives, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Connie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Paula Picciotto of Liverpool; her grandchildren, Laura Picciotto of New York City, Sarah Picciotto of Rochester, and Bryan and Amy Picciotto of Brewer, ME; and many nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Pope John XXIII Church, 8290 Soule Rd., Liverpool, directly followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Connie’s life at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery.
