Cora M. (Fiorito) Costa's Obituary
Cora M. (Fiorito) Costa, 98, of Lyncourt, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 18, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Syracuse on October 6, 1919 to the late Fred and Mary (Massone) Fiorito. Cora married Carmen “Carl” Costa, Sr. on June 5, 1950. Cora loved cooking for her family on Sundays, a family tradition. She also enjoyed crocheting and watching S.U. basketball and professional tennis.
Besides her parents, Cora is predeceased by her husband, Carmen “Carl” Costa, Sr.; her son, Carmen C. Costa, Jr., and siblings, Lena Toscano, Lucy Chase and Dr. Joseph Fiorito.
Cora is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Glenn) Thompson, Sr.; her son, Joseph (Barbara) Costa; daughter-in-law, Donna Costa; grandchildren, Julie Costa, Jennifer (Brian) Niezabytowski, Jodie Costa and fiancé, Tim Mack, Trevor Costa and Justin Costa; great-grandson, Connor Niezabytowski; six step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 am on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Cora’s life at 9:00 am in St. Daniel’s Church. Entombment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
