Cynthia E. "Cindi" Althoff

Cynthia “Cindi” Althoff, 69, of Baldwinsville passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family on March 13, 2025, following a brief illness. Born August 7th, 1955, in Syracuse, NY to Ralph J. Cometti, Sr. and Mary (Zdep) Cometti, Cindi grew up in Solvay and was a graduate of Solvay High School. She then completed her degree in secretarial work from Powelson Business Institute. Cindi held several positions culminating in a 30-year career with New Channels/Time Warner Cable where she worked as the Administrative Assistant to the President of the Syracuse Division. Cindi married Robert Althoff in May of 1996. They shared many happy years together in Daytona Beach, FL where they built a life with friends and loved ones. Cindi selflessly cared for her mother-in-law during this time. Upon the arrival of additional grandchildren, it was Cindi’s wish to move back to Syracuse to share her love with them. They were the light of her life and not a moment went by that she wasn’t thinking of them, buying them gifts or planning their next adventure with Grandma (aka “Little Grandma”). Cindi was truly a light in the lives of all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed. In addition to her husband of nearly 29 years, Cindi is survived by her children Matthew (Megan) Crary, Patrick Althoff and Colleen (Andrew) Goole, sisters Janet Fureno and Marilyn Dardeno of Syracuse and her brother Ralph J. (Roberta) Cometti, Jr. of South Carolina as well as several nieces and nephews and a close circle of friends on Brixham Court. All the joy in her heart has been passed to her grandchildren Myles, Aiden, Harper, Chase, Isaac and Evelyn. A funeral service in celebration of Cindi’s life will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. Cindi’s family would like to thank the ICU, Palliative Care Team and the nursing staff of 4 North at Crouse hospital for their care in her final days.
