Cynthia A. (Nichols) Nies' Obituary
Cynthia A. “Cindy” Nies, of Liverpool, New York, passed away peacefully at her home on June 7, 2026, at the age of 82. Born to the late Lloyd and Muriel (Stevenson) Nichols, she was a loving, caring, and selfless person who always put others before herself. Cindy was the kind of person you could always count on, whether for support, encouragement, or simply a warm smile. Cindy had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Her kind heart, positive spirit, and sense of humor made her a joy to be around.
Her greatest pride and joy was her granddaughter, Shayla, whom she adored beyond measure. Despite the 53 years between them, they were truly best friends—each other’s sidekicks, always joking that they were partners in crime. To Cynthia, Shayla could do no wrong. The bond they shared was incredibly special and brought her endless happiness, laughter, and love throughout her life.
Cindy’s love for family and friends was evident in everything she did. She touched the lives of many people through her generosity, compassion, and unwavering support. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and treasured memories that her family will carry with them forever.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Richard Nichols and her sister Janet Gillen.
Cynthia is survived by; her sons, Brian Nies (Angela) and Greg Nies (Maria); her cherished granddaughter, Shayla Nies; her brothers, Jack (Connie) Nichols and Bruce Nichols, along with many beloved nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She passed away peacefully at home and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be held on Friday June 12, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., followed by a funeral service in celebration of Cindy’s life at 7:30 P.M. in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212.
