Daniel James Brown's Obituary
Daniel James Brown, 72, of N. Syracuse, NY, passed away on February 4, 2024. He was born in Syracuse, NY, son of the late Robert and Helen (Morris) Brown. Daniel loved sports and played Varsity baseball at Liverpool HS. He coached for the Liverpool Little League and was always volunteering at the fields. Daniel was a self-employed Insurance Agent for most of his career and he also helped on the Henderson Family Farm. He was a hard worker and always willing to lend a helping hand to others.
He spent most of his time at Panther Lake, NY, a beloved family spot, and winter seasons in Boynton Beach, FL. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed long drives, especially up to the Adirondacks. He was a member of the Newcomb Sportsmen Club. His hobbies included hunting, chopping wood and landscaping, watching sports, including Syracuse, Vanderbilt Baseball, Cortland Soccer and Liverpool Field Hockey. He was always listening to the Yankees on the radio, following horse racing and watching Westerns.
His true loves in life were his wife, Patricia “Patty’ Brown, his five children, thirteen grandchildren and baseball. He filled his days after her passing with visits to the diner in Liverpool and Kieffer’s Cigar Shop, Bucks in Williamstown, Flo’s in Canastota, and Duffy’s in FL to see friends and catch up on current events. His peculiar sense of humor, one liners and random selfies will surely be missed by his large family and friends.
