Daniel J. Fofi's Obituary
Daniel J. Fofi, 82, of Syracuse, passed away Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Carbondale, PA, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Dan was employed with Allied Chemical for 28 years and went on to work for the Syracuse City School District for 12 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a true family man.
He was predeceased by his parents, Primo and Helen (Lapuszcenac) Fofi and two brothers, Eugene Fofi and Richard Fofi.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Claire (Rosemellia) Fofi; his three children, David (Virginia) Fofi, Sr. of Syracuse, Geri (George) Downey of Wisconsin and Daniel (Lynn) Fofi of Baldwinsville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Regina (Patrick) Scarpino of Carbondale, PA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Dan’s life at 10:00 am in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
