Daniel A. Prietti, Sr.'s Obituary
Daniel A. Prietti, Sr., 90, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Upstate University Hospital on Saturday, November 8, 2014. He was born in Syracuse and served with the U.S. Army. Daniel worked for Central City Roofing and Diamond Roofing. He also co-owned “Shop City Coffee Shop” with his late wife, Elizabeth. Daniel was a member of “Happy Roamers” and the “Five Oaks Social Club”. He was an avid bowler and golfer and loved gardening. Daniel volunteered at Community General Hospital for 14 years and was also an Usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Syracuse.
He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth R. (Rinaldi) Prietti in 2006 and his siblings, Angie, Louis, Anthony, and Louise.
Daniel is survived by four children, Elvera (Kevin) Young, Daniel A. Prietti, Jr., Bette Ann Prietti, and Gigi P. (Matt) Sgroi; 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, his sister, Rita, brother-in-law, Angelo (Rita) Rinaldi, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 am on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Daniel’s life at 10:00 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1515 Midland Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13205.
