Dante P. Racciatti's Obituary
Dante P. Racciatti, 55, of Cicero, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014. He was born in Syracuse. Dante was employed with the Water Environment Protection in Onondaga County for 37 years. He was formerly employed with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office then became a Special Deputy. Dante also worked Traffic Control and Security for many churches, schools and businesses in the area. He coached little league and Pop Warner for his sons. Dante had a infectious smile and charisma that made everyone want to be around him making him the center of attention no matter where he was. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved his 3 boys dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Girolamo and Stella (Biasi) Racciatti and his wife, Helen (Smith) Racciatti. Dante is survived by his first wife, Tina Gallo, the mother of his 3 sons, Mario J. (Juana) Racciatti of Liverpool, Carmen A. (Danielle) Racciatti of Texas and Dante C. Racciatti of Bridgeport; 5 grandchildren, Marissa, Damiana, Giavanna, Ariyah and Gabriella; his brother, Marco (Lisa) Racciatti of Bridgeport; his sister, Elisa (William) White of Liverpool; ; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 am in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass in celebration of Dante's life at 10:00 am in St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
