David Asher Alber's Obituary
David Asher Alber, 75, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 19, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Milton and Sophie (Goldman) Alber.
David graduated from Carnegie Mellon University and Eastman School of Music. He was a violinist with the Syracuse Symphony, retiring after many dedicated years. David loved classical music and opera.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Murray Alber.
David is survived by his loving companion and partner of 47 years, John L. Barnett; his brother, Paul Alber; his nephew, Sean Alber and friend, Heather Fais, along with many extended family and friends.
