David S. Cook's Obituary
David S. Cook, passed away tragically on November 13, 2025, at the age of 67. He resided in Syracuse and spent his early years in Camillus, graduating from West Genesee High School. Dave was born a gifted musician and began playing guitar at a very young age. Over the years, he played with several bands, most recently with his current band, Cousin Jake.
Dave was an extremely humble, award winning guitarist whose music gave great enjoyment to so many people. He was also an electrician who owned and operated Total Electric. Dave was known to accept pies and cookies for his services on occasion. His reputation as an all-around loving and wonderful man will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Donald Cook and June (Mumford) Cook; brother, Tim Cook; brother-in-law, Bob Ward, and sister-in-law, Lydia Sauer.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Amy (Sauer) Cook; son, Mason Cook (Erin Willey); grandson, 3 year old Morgan Cook; sisters: Kathleen Chappini (Tom Chappini) of Delaware, and Christine (Archung) Sawicki (Bob Sawicki) of Texas; in-laws: David and Darlene Sauer, Danny Sauer and Kathy Mulcahy-Sauer, Ellyn Sauer and Karen (Sauer) Ward, several terrific nieces and nephews, and many remarkable friends.
Dave was affectionately named "Bop" by his grandson Morgan who would occasionally join the band for a few sets on stage.

Calling hours are Friday, November 21, 2025 from 3:00PM-6:00PM at THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME. A funeral service in celebration of David’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd, (corner of Buckley Rd.) N. Syracuse, NY 13212. He will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
