Dave Gardner, where do I even begin my old friend. I'm deeply saddened by this news, which I'm still trying to process. The kind of news nobody wants to wake up to. You were such an incredible person and it was an honor to see you grow over the years and ACHIEVE SO MUCH IN LIFE. I'm proud of you and proud to have known you. I'll FOREVER cherish our chats and memories over the years, which till this day puts a smile on my face. Such a kind, caring, generous, clever, courageous, & WILDLY FUNNY soul. I'm sure you're cracking a smile up there, one I'll always remember. My condolences to your family, friends, loved ones. Most importantly your children, whom I'm sure you're watching over. As children, my siblings and I loved when the cousins were visiting us in Minnesota from New York! David always had the best ideas for games and ways to rough house and get into mischief in the yard at Grandma and Grandpa Gardner's house. It was always with a huge grin and a huge amount of patience to allow so many little kids to tag along after him like little ducklings.
I have always been so proud that my big cousin was fighting so bravely to protect us overseas. Any time the military is mentioned, his face is still always the first one that pops into my head. Thank you for your service, David, and for inspiring Deanna's service as well.
