Dr. David M. Humphrey's Obituary
Dr. David M. Humphrey, 82, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Menorah Park of CNY. He was born in Rochester, MN to the late Dr. Irving, Jr. and Sarah (Pilsworth) Humphrey.
Dr. Humphrey attended Stanford University and medical school at the University of Chicago. He worked as a physician and professor at SUNY Upstate for many years and enjoyed reading, watching video lectures, and practicing meditation at the Zen Center in Syracuse.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his former spouse, Janet L. Harley, his granddaughter, Isabelle A. Kessler, and his son-in-law, Todd Kessler.
Dr. Humphrey is survived by his children, Jennifer (Paul) Kessler Wescott and Jason Humphrey; his grandchildren, Kaela, Arik, Adriana, Ryan, Mace, Sean, Ashley, and Cosmo; his great-grandson, David; his siblings, Sally Ann Walsh and Dr. Irving L. Humphrey II; along with his two nieces, Laurel and Heather.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Dr. Humphrey’s life at 3:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
