David L. Morgan's Obituary
David L. Morgan, 87, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Born in Syracuse, son of the late Van V. and Ruth (Dugan) Morgan, David was a graduate of Eastwood High School and Syracuse University. After college, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard and then went on to become a senior buyer for Carrier Corporation for 35 years. David was an avid bowler at the Pastime Athletic Club. He also coached baseball and won two state championships. He enjoyed going to Syracuse football and basketball games for over 50 years. He enjoyed music and attended many concerts; he was also a singer in a gospel band. David was an avid reader and loved books; he also volunteered for North Area Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Along with his parents, David is predeceased by his siblings, Butch Morgan, Jean Morgan-Bennett, his brother-in-law, Charlie Bennett, and his dog, Babe.
David is survived by his loving husband, David W. France; his children, Katrina Miller-France (Doug Miller), Shannell France, and Cassandra France; ten grandchildren; two nieces, Loura Bennett, and Darleen Morgan; two nephews, Steve Bennett, and Dave Morgan; and many friends.
David’s family would like to thank Hospice of CNY for their loving care during his final days.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of David’s life at 3:00 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. David’s family asks that those attending wear Syracuse Orange in memory of David.
Following services, there will be a reception at Bella Domani 5988 E. Taft Rd. North Syracuse, NY 13212 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to North Area Meals on Wheels, 413 Church St. North Syracuse, NY 13212.
