David R. Morris' Obituary
David R. Morris, 83, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 7, 2026, at Upstate University Hospital.
David was born in Syracuse, to the late Harold and Marjorie (Allen) Morris. He received his bachelor’s degree in Adolescent Education. David was a teacher at the Central Square School District for over 40 years, which was his biggest passion. He also was a salesman at China Towne Furniture Store.
David was involved with many charitable groups and organizations throughout his life including SFWC and WCNY’s TelAuc. He donated 1000’s of boxes of Jello to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Bureau and he headed up a used pill bottle collection for “Matthew 25” where bottles were sent to Africa.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his loving spouse, Karen H. Morris in 2020.
David is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Heather) Morris and bonus daughter, Karin Martindale (Sonni); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lussier, Derrick Sanford, William Wells, and bonus granddaughter, Maria Barrella; great-grandchildren, Natalia Wells and Jayden Knierman; his sister, Patricia Mackenzie; 2 loving cats and many extended family members including extended nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (noon) at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of David’s life at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212. He will be laid to rest with his wife, Karen in Cortland Rural Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, April 20, 2026.
