Dean W. Burrows' Obituary
Dean W. Burrows, 81, of Liverpool passed away peacefully on Friday August 22, 2025. He was born in Gouverneur, NY the son of the late James and Evah (Perry). He was a beloved husband of Elaine (Citro) for 62 years. A devoted father to his two sons, David (Barb) Burrows and Dean (Lia) Burrows and a proud grandfather to 5 grandchildren, Alexander, Christopher, Taylor, Meaghan and Benjamin.
A career that spanned over 50 years in the dental industry as a leading dental office designer and dental equipment specialist. After graduating from Ritter Dental School, Dean was responsible for designing and equipping hundreds of dental offices from Albany to Buffalo. He started his career as a shipping clerk at Mohawk Dental in Utica. He worked for Capital Dental in Albany before moving to Syracuse in 1977 to become branch manager at Healthco Dental. He worked for Meer Dental and retired from Patterson Dental in 2012.
Dean enjoyed camping, golf, traveling, but valued time with his family. His dry wit and sense of humor are legendary in the Burrows and Citro family memories and stories. He was actively involved in the Jaycees in his younger years in Albany, volunteered as a Troup Leader in Boys Scouts and coached youth baseball. His impact on their lives is still felt today.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 in Pope John XXIII Church, 8290 Soule Rd. Liverpool. The family will greet guests at 3:00 P.M. and the memorial mass will begin at 4:00 P.M. He will be privately laid to rest in St. Agnes Cemetery, Utica.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the North Area Meals-on-Wheels, 413 Church St. N. Syracuse, 13212.
