It is with heavy hearts and great sadness to announce Dean “Dino” Pappas, 57, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 15, 2021. He was born in Syracuse, son of the late Symeon P. and Read Obituary
Dino, on the front line with Johnny K, impervious to the exhortations of Coach Wemesfelder. You played soccer with such flair, upright, a solid striker with both feet. Thanks for the help on the pitch. Thanks for remembering me and making my return to Liverpool in 2005 so warm and friendly. My distant friend, this comes as a shock. I never met your family but I want to tell them, you were an athlete who had CLASS, and I always admired you. I can remember sitting on the bench hearing Coach W. yell "Dino, don't, don't!" Then you scored and he spun around and yelled to me "Jimmy, get out there!, that darn Pappas, I love him! Jimmy, can you listen to me when you are out there?"
Our deepest condolences and love to Helen, Selena, Sam, and Christine and Helen and families. We are so sad to hear about the passing of Dino. Such an amazing person who will be greatly missed by all. God's blessings and love to all of you. May Dino's memory be eternal.

Many years have past since we grew up together in Chestnut Heights. Dino had an amazing way of making his friends feel special because he was so special. I wish our close friendship stayed beyond school. I will always remember the amazing soccer player with a huge heart and infectious smile. Words can’t describe the sadness we feel losing our dearest Uncle Dean. A true example of what a husband and father should be. Someone to look up to and learn from. He is so incredibly proud of his children, wife and family, and we are always proud to call him our uncle.
From playing soccer with him in my backyard as a young child to the advice he gave me recently - live in the moment, family is always number one, never to take a moment for granted.
We miss his stories and presence already.
