Deana R. (Rivito) Gaiser's Obituary
Deana R. (Rivito) Gaiser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born in Syracuse to the late Santo and Brunetta Rivito and graduated from North High School in 1955 and enjoyed being a Pompeian Player. Deana was the President of the North Syracuse Lionettes, Mistress of Ceremonies for the Miss North Syracuse Pageant, a member of the Clay Republican Committee for many years, as well as a past member of the North Syracuse Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a real estate agent for 30 years and an active parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church. Deana loved to cook and bake for her family, enjoyed lunches with friends from school and her career in real estate. She always looked forward to trips to the casino and bowling with her husband, Jack.
In addition to her parents, Deana is predeceased by her sister, Anna Dodge and her two brothers, Santo “Sonny” and Carmen Rivito.
She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 62 years, John “Jack” Gaiser; her sons, Christopher and Steven (Patricia) of Port St. Lucie, FL; her daughter, Maria (Robert) Capria of Scottsdale, AZ; her five grandchildren, Courtney, Matthew, Erica, Brianna, and Brendan; her three great-grandchildren, Cason, Cohen, and Corbin; along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place on Friday, December 2, 2022 from 5 - 7 pm at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse. A funeral mass in celebration of Deana’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022 in St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
