Deborah (Wright) Kameny's Obituary
Deborah W. Kameny passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2025.
Deborah was born on June 3, 1943, in Willimantic Connecticut to the late Warner and Shirley Wright.
They moved to Weston Massachusetts when she was 4 years old. After graduating high school, Deborah moved to New York to attend Alfred University where she received her Bachelors of Science in nursing. While in school she met her first husband and moved to Syracuse in 1966 where she resided the remainder of her life.
Deborah started her nursing career working at the VA Hospital and then the Jewish Nursing Home. For the remainder of her career, she worked in family practice with Dr.’s Kameny and Seidner and North Medical
Family Physicians.
Deborah’s favorite thing in life was spending time with her family and friends. She always put others first and had a caring heart and positive attitude towards life, even when she was sick.
Deborah is predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Dr. Ronald Kameny and her identical twin sister, Suzanne Evans.
She is survived by her daughters, Amy (Jeoffrey) Kelly of Cicero and Beth (John Jr.) Murphy of Brewerton; grandchildren, Katherine, Gavin and Noel; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Pam (Skip) Carter of Bedford, NH and Holly (Robert) Palmgren of Natick, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Deborah' life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Deborah’s name to the Alzheimer's Association.
