Deborah A. (Whaley) Karczewski's Obituary
Deborah A. (Whaley) Karczewski, 65, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Watertown, NY to Charles and Wanda Whaley. Deborah achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in biology and chemistry from SUNY Albany, a Medical Technology Degree from Albany Medical College, and her Masters in Bioprocess Engineering at SUNY ESF. She worked as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for SUNY Upstate Medical University. Deborah loved knitting, sewing, trivia, travel, and animals.
Deborah was predeceased by her husband, Michael Karczewski in 2010 and her father, Charles Whaley.
Deborah is survived by her daughter, Anna E. Yager; her three grandchildren, Leif, Finn, and Alexis Yager; her mother, Wanda Whaley; her sister, Cheryl Emmons; her partner, Ed Pepin; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M., at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Deborah’s life at 5:00 P.M. in the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) Syracuse, NY 13212.
