Deborah M. (Velasco) Cooper's Obituary
Deborah M. (Velasco) Cooper, 69, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at Francis House on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Deborah was born in Syracuse to the late John and Nancy (Terrinoni) Velasco. She worked as a commercial rater for various insurance agencies including General Accident, Haylor-Freyer & Coon, and OneGroup. Always the social butterfly, Deborah loved to get together with family and friends any opportunity she could. She also enjoyed bowling, and even worked for Lakeview Bowling Alley for several years, playing pitch, and taking trips to the casino.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers and sister, John and Charles Velasco and Carol Mierzwa; and her niece, Kaitlin Kozlowski.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Donald L. Cooper; stepson, Tom (Becca) Cooper; seven grandchildren; her siblings, Kathleen Kozlowski, Denise (Chet) Mnich, Michael Velasco, and Alice Foriero; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Deborah’s life at 12:00 P.M. at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse.
