Delia A. "Dee" DiNicola's Obituary
Delia A. “Dee” DiNicola, 76, of Cicero, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Upstate University Hospital at Community. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Angelo and Rose (Sgroi) DiNicola. Delia was employed with Carrier Corp. for over 20 years and retired from the Herald Journal after 25 years of service. Currently she was employed at Walmart in Cicero, where she worked as a greeter. She enjoyed frequent trips to the Turning Stone Casino. Delia loved spending time with her family and her cat, Colton.
She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Maroney in 2009 and her brother, Michael DiNicola in 1996.
Delia is survived by her sister, Roseanne (Michael) Oeinck of Cicero; her brother-in-law, John Maroney of Liverpool; her sister-in-law, Sharon DiNicola of Illinois; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Chris) Husenitza, David (Nicole) DiNicola, Brian (Jennifer) DiNicola, Michelle (Meaghan McDonagh) Oeinck and Michael DiNicola; along with several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Funeral Mass in celebration of Delia’s life at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Pompei/St. Peter Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the funeral home, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
