I don't believe I ever had the pleasure of meeting this lovely lady or any of her family for that matter, but after living in Syracuse for almost 60 years now, I know I've heard of the Vassallo's in conversations with my In-Laws (Frank and Connie Delia) who also were alumni of both North High and Lakeshore. I just wanted to say that your obituary touched me and hopefully any other person who had a Mother and parents whom I consider to be part of the "Greatest Generation", and not just the men who went to fight, but also the women who they built families with when they returned home. Your Mother seemed to be one of those remarkable woman who loved unconditionally and devoted herself to her family heart and soul, your words of adoration for her definitely sounded deserving and made this stranger shed a tear for someone unknown to me but reinforced my belief that their are special people who can bring happiness to others by just doing that one thing that we all should do, love each other. My Condolences on your loss, and may this beautiful soul R.I.P.
God Bless
