Derrick J. Noreault's Obituary
Derrick James Noreault was born on March 9th 2001 to Patrick Lee Noreault Sr and Tabitha Jean Wood-Noreault, in the passenger seat of a van out of all places. Derrick would often joke that it was in a Maserati to anyone who asked. He grew up to be a mischievous, happy and resilient child who made every kid in his neighborhood his friend. When he wasn’t making new friends, he was participating in daily activities alongside his lifelong ones, his siblings Tricia, Pat Pat and Justice.
In 2019, Derrick pursued a career in the United States ARMY, where he spent 3 years as a combat engineer. During this time, he met his three closest friends Caleb Money, Jesus Roldan, and Selena Granados. In November of 2020 Derrick married his wife Hailey Louise Hayden- Noreault, and in 2021 they welcomed their beloved daughter Novalie Jean Noreault. Derrick went on to pursue his CDL class A license and graduated with honors from National Tractor Trailer School (NTTS).
Derrick was a loving father and husband, who fiercely protected his wife and children with all the strength in his body and soul. His wife remembers him for giving the shirt off his back, being a lending ear and shoulder she needed to lean on, and most of all his daily forehead kisses. His children remember him for his abundance of bear hugs, and his laugh.
When Derrick wasn’t focused on schooling and work, he spent his days throwing bonfires for his kids, shooting, taking neighborhood strolls where he waved to every single neighbor and animal in sight, and watching "that show” he swore he didn’t watch (Virgin River).
Ultimately, Derrick during this time suffered severe mental illness, and as a result succumbed to suicide. Derrick’s family shares this openly in hopes it ends the stigma behind getting mental help and ending suicide. They now rejoice in the thought of heaven, knowing Derrick is free in a new body, as the Bible states that Christ “will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body” (Philippians 3:21). Find comfort in the relief of heaven, for Christian’s death is not the end.
Derrick is predeceased by his sister, Jasmine Noreault, his mother, Tabitha Jean Wood-Noreault, maternal grandmother, Patricia Wood, and his son, Noelle Levi Noreault.
He is survived by his loving wife, Hailey Louise Hayden- Noreault; grandfather, Daniel Wood; his father, Patrick (Cynthia) Noreault, Sr; father-in-law, Mark (Mary) Hayden and mother-in-law, Katherine (Michael) Perry; daughter, Novalie Jean Noreault; fur babies, Onesie and Kona; siblings, Monica Noreault, Caitlin Noreault, Tricia (Antwan) Hicks Noreault, Patrick (Jessica) Noreault Jr, Justice (Makaylee) Noreault, Dustin Barlow and Victoria Barlow; a cousin, Jaime Deleon; siblings-in-law, Joseph, Makayla, Rebecca, Dominick, Alexandria, Rose Marie, Kimora, Zameer, Atiyana Marie, Michael, Victoria and Madeleine; along with an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place from 4:00 – 6:30 P.M. immediately followed by a funeral service at 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd.
