Diana M. "DeDe" (Monto) Cipriano's Obituary
Diana “DeDe” (Monto) Cipriano, 81, of Minoa, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Tidewell at Bradenton Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Syracuse to the late James and Eleanor (Pelrah) Monto, Diana graduated from Eastwood High School. She worked in her family’s restaurant, Eleanor’s, until its closing in 1989. She then went on to work as a Senior Teller at Bank of America until her retirement in 2009. Diana was an MKAA Softball Coach, an avid bowler, and a member of the Minoa Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.
Most of all, Diana loved to be with her family, and she exemplified the importance of family like no other. She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, and no one was made to feel different or less than. She constantly and consistently went above and beyond for her family. Diana was her family’s number-one supporter, attending every event to cheer them on. Diana loved being surrounded by her family, and though her loss has greatly impacted all of her loved ones, it’s a comfort to know she is once again surrounded by the family that left before her.
Along with her parents, Diana was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Peter Cipriano, Sr., and her siblings, Theodore Monto and Michelle Monto.
Diana is survived by her children, Peter (Melissa) Cipriano, Jr., Gina (Nick) Ferrante, and Annette Cipriano; grandchildren, Allison, Katerina, Anna Maria, and Elia Cipriano; Nicholas, Peter, and Isabella Ferrante; Emily, Anthony, and Michael Cipriano; and Brandon Sabel; siblings, Ann (Tony) Desimone, Robert (Barbara) Monto, Jay (Sharon) Monto, and Toni Ann (James) Huntington; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Tidewell at Bradenton Hospice for their care of Diana.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Diana’s life will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 9:30 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S. Main St. North Syracuse. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (Corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY 13212.
