Diane M. "Dee" Federico's Obituary
Diane M. “Dee” Federico, 61, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, August 29, 2015.
Diane was co-founder of Federico’s Auto Body and worked there alongside her husband, Joe, and father-in-law, Pasquale, for 40 years. She was a member at Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club for 31 years. Diane enjoyed playing golf and was a novice bowler. She most enjoyed cooking for her family and has passed down her famous recipes to her girls.
Diane leaves behind beautiful memories and permanent imprints on the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Her biggest joys in life came from spending time with her family – at the Cape and in Florida, and her girls’ homes in Boston and Connecticut. Simply being together with her family made Diane the happiest. As the sign hanging in her home reads, Families are Forever.
Diane was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be eternally grateful to those who loved and supported her throughout her battle, especially her family and two closest friends. Diane was a fearless fighter and an irreplaceable, kind soul. Her beautiful spirit will live on forever through those who loved her most.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Joseph A. Federico; her two daughters, Nicole (Mark) Furbush of Boston, MA and Dr. Danielle (Brian) Turner of Avon, CT; her parents, Vincent and Frances Galluzzo; her brother, Vincent (Cheryl) Galluzzo of Winter Springs, FL; her sister, Karen Nicotra of Syracuse, along with many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Diane’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Church. Private family entombment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.), North Syracuse, NY.
