Dimitrio “Jim” Sterio, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Jim was born in Syracuse on May 18, 1939, to the late Gregory and Eugenia (Kyrkou) Sterio. He was a graduate of Vocational High School and a veteran of Read Obituary
I was looking for some information about my favorite restaurant in Syracuse from back in the late 70s while I was at S.U., and came across Mr. Sterio's obituary. We used to constantly "save up" so that every few weeks we could have a real nice dinner of chateaubriand at Sterio's Landmark. I completely remember Mr. Sterio and how lovely he and everyone at the nicest restaurant in the city were to us college kids. Rest in peace, Mr. Sterio.
I worked with Jim at the Sheraton University Hotel some years ago but will always
remember what a kind person Jim was. My mom worked with his brother,Van for many
years at the Hotel Syracuse. We were both blessed to have known these fine men.

I got to know Jim from the pool at the YMCA years ago. He and his wife were such really nice people and I enjoyed talking with both of them on a daily basis. Jim and his wife will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for the family’s s loss
I have very fond memories of Mr. Sterio as my late father, Art Martin, worked for Kraft Foods for over 60 years and was also a member of the International Food Executives Association and he worked with Jim during that time and they were great friends. He was always kind and generous to our family and always greeted us with a smile. My heartfelt condolences.
