Dolores Bell (Thurston) Kowalik's Obituary
Dolores B. Kowalik, 86, of Syracuse, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Syracuse, daughter of the late Charles and Adaline Thurston. In addition to raising her nine children, Dolores was also a Foster Grandparent for the Syracuse Developmental Center through PEACE, Inc.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley C. Kowalik, Sr. in 1999 and her siblings, Francis Thurston, Jr., Florence Oleson and Viola Thorn.
Dolores is survived by nine children, Stanley C. (Elizabeth) Kowalik, Jr., Deborah Kowalik, William (Ruth) Kowalik, Carol Cruz, Michael (Tisha) Kowalik, RoxAnne (Michael) Casey, Steven Kowalik, Edward Kowalik and Tina (William) Pierce; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Dolores' request, private funeral services for family were held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME.
